Ram Air FAQ:

Q: What does Turbo RamAir actually do?
Ram Air does exactly what it implies. It provides more than twice the amount of air directly to the intake track of an engine. In the case of a Powerstroke, in it's stock configuration, the air supply is severely restricted. The end result being that it is literally starving for air. The Turbo RamAir allows the cool, clean, outside air to travel directly to the turbo. As the vehicle begins to move, the Turbo RamAir will more than double the amount of fresh, outside air directly to the turbo.

Q: What type of power gains can be expected?
The Turbo RamAir delivers approximately a 13% power increase on a stock Powerstroke. It will allow your turbo to access about twice the amount of air it currently receives in it's stock condition. As a result, the spool up time for the turbo is dramatically improved. The 'air scoop' mounts right between the grill and the intercooler, at the top, and draws in fresh outside air across the top three openings of the grill.

Q: Is the Turbo RamAir difficult to install?
All Western Diesel Performance products are designed with the truck owner in mind. We go to great lengths to provide simple step-by-step instructions so that the components can be easily installed. The Turbo RamAir will replace your entire stock air intake system. The only piece you will retain is the rubber inlet hose from the front of the turbo. Some slight modifications are necessary to complete the installation but can be managed easily with basic tools.

Q: How does the Turbo RamAir effect my Ford vehicle warranty?
The Turbo RamAir has no effect on your Ford warranty. The Magnuson-Moss federal law prohibits vehicle manufacturers from voiding their warranties due to the addition of safety or performance devices. In fact, in order to deny a warranty claim, the manufacturer must prove that the aftermarket item actually caused a failure to the vehicle.

Q: What about rainwater ingestion?
The Turbo RamAir has numerous water traps and "fences" built-in to the design in order to channel and evacuate any water from reaching the filter or the turbo.

Q: What is included in the kit?
The kit comes complete with everything needed to install. You will need to supply your own tools and careful attention to each step of the installation process. A small roto-tool, such as a Dremel, will also be needed to clearance some of the excess plastic behind the grill. The components of the kit include the following: 5 pieces of the intake track, our own design, dual element foam filter, a battery tray, battery cable, all necessary brackets and hardware, which are all powder-coated and, of course, the installation instructions.
